About Me:
I’m an artist who delights in Halloween’s dual nature ~ cute & creepy, fun & frightening, mischievous yet malevolent ~ and I incorporate this into my one-of-a-kind creations. I’m not only obsessed with creating, but also collecting anything having to do with this magickal time of year! (I’ll take pumpkin cappuccino and the cackling of a witch anytime) My inspirations manifest themselves from a collective effort of every spooky movie I’ve ever seen, every horror story I’ve ever read, and every enchanted Halloween season I’ve ever celebrated. I work with a variety of mediums, but clay & fabric are the dominant factors.
I’m originally a Yooper (from the Upper Penninsula of Michigan), now transplanted in Wisconsin but my heart belongs to Salem, MA. I’ve had the extreme pleasure of visiting in 2007 & 2009, and I must say the city has totally bewitched me. In October 2009 I participated in the most successful art show I've ever been a part of. It was bustling with thousands of souls over the two-day event, with many clad in costumes of zombies, witches, and other creatures of the night that rivaled the best special effects of any horror movie. I chatted with many of them, as well as visitors who came from all corners of the globe and the locals were more than eager to share their experiences of the area. I came away with many newfound friendships that I will always hold near and dear to my heart. I feel honored and humbled to have had these treasured experiences and will look back on it all with nothing short of complete and utter reverence, dreaming of the day when I can return!
